Global Payroll Manager

All roles with Chainlink Labs are globally remote based. We encourage you to apply regardless of your location.

We are a People team with an exciting mission: to serve the world's very best talent in building Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network. Due to the project's phenomenal success, we are going through a period of rapid growth and are quickly scaling up.

As our first Global Payroll Manager, you will own the blueprinting, strategy, and buildout of our payroll function. You will own multi-country payrolls and write the playbook, enabling us to swiftly hire and compensate new joiners as we enter new locations.

You will be a key player in our global expansion, building a team to support you as the company grows and using your payroll expertise to design and implement an exceptional global payroll function that integrates seamlessly into our operational systems.

If you’re a systems-minded builder who is excited about evolving our payroll function from disparate vendors into a cohesive and integrated global program, and can roll up your sleeves to move mountains - we’re excited to hear from you!

Your Impact
  • Review our global payroll setup and processes, and suggest best-in-class changes to align, integrate, and harmonize our existing infrastructure and vendors.
  • Own day-to-day global payroll operations, coordinating with vendors and the internal team to deliver pay accurately, in a timely manner, effectively, and within all regulatory, labor, and tax guidelines to employees and contractors throughout the US. and internationally
  • Build a world class Global Payroll team of A-Players to support you in hyperscaling your payroll operations.
  • Implement, maintain, and review high quality payroll processing systems that provide world class data integrity to the business.
  • Partner with various groups within the business (e.g. People, IT and Accounting) to provide strategic direction on business needs and issues related to payroll.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure payroll is tightly integrated into business systems, suggesting appropriate systems upgrades as we scale.
  • Create a playbook for entry into new countries to enable us to add new countries frequently at scale  - including vendor selection, PEO/branch usage, payroll delivery, and benefits brokers.
  • Develop cutting edge methodologies for handling crypto payroll reporting.

Requirements
  • Experience building a global payroll function in a high growth (preferably startup) environment
  • Natural curiosity - we’re working at the cutting edge of tech, branching into many new locations, and leading the wave in decentralized finance. You won’t know it all already, but a passion for learning quickly is key.
  • Passionate, self-starter with a can-do attitude. You're eager to jump in and get things done, and will stay calm and collected in a fast-paced and fast changing environment
  • Exposure to US labor law, tax, and compliance at the federal and state levels
  • The US is our biggest location so it’s critical that you’re comfortable in that geography. If you’re newer to global payroll geographies outside the US and are open to learning fast to get up to speed, that can work too.
  • Detail oriented, deadline driven and work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy
  • A leader who can flex from tactical to strategic as needed to get the job done.

Our Principles

At Chainlink Labs, we’re committed to the key operating principles of ownership, focus, and open dialogue. We practice complete ownership, where everyone goes the extra mile to own outcomes into success. We understand that unflinching focus is a superpower and is how we channel our activity into technological achievements for the benefit of our entire ecosystem. We embrace open dialogue and critical feedback to arrive at an accurate and truthful picture of reality that promotes both personal and organizational growth.

Talent Relations Associate

If you love the idea of working for David instead of Goliath and want to show up to a supportive team and work you’re genuinely excited about day in day out, you’re in the right place.

Do you play for the front of the jersey, not the back? Operate in a bold and unique way and value a culture of trust, transparency, respect, and growth? Then you’re definitely in the right place.

We’re Lemonpie and we’ve been waiting for you.

The Opportunity

The mission of the Talent Relations Associate is to support our Talent Relation clients by securing them guest appearances on podcasts while also providing world-class service and ensuring our goals for them are not only met but all of their expectations are exceeded.

Essentially, you’ll act as their Podcast PR rep and it’s your job to help them, and their companies, shine.

This Role in Action

  • Pitching - Crafting personal and compelling email, video, and social media pitches to podcast hosts in order to obtain guest appearances for our clients on their show.

  • Prospecting - Conducting show research to find the perfect podcasts for each client's expertise and goals.

  • Client reports - Creating custom client reports that recap the work we’ve done together.

  • Onboarding material & guidance - Creating custom onboarding material for new clients and guiding them through the onboarding journey.

  • Strategy & growth - You’ll monitor results for every client you run point on and ensure their experience with us is ever-evolving to ensure success.

  • Collaboration - Working together to refine, define, and implement new ideas via weekly team meetings, Slack and some async jam sessions in GDocs.

Culture

Our best asset is, and always will be, our people. We invest in our people from the very beginning and make it our mission to ensure each and every day results in a team that’s happier and more fulfilled than the day before and growing together, even from hundreds of miles apart.

We’re an engaged and collaborative team that may or may not be having a ridiculous amount of fun building this thing.

And since no one wants to work somewhere they don’t love, here are a few indicators you’ll feel right at home here:

You:
  • Take pride in creating a killer personalized pitch (this will be the primary function of this role and we’re not the mass email type).

  • Think outside of the box. Or more accurately, are unaware a box ever existed and like to create your own. Then you tear it down and build a tower instead.

  • Have an almost freakish ability to communicate virtually. Not only by speech but the written word. For real. We mean it. If communication of any kind is something you struggle with, we totally get it (we love our introverted team members!), but you and this role won’t be friends.

  • Crave improvement. You’re never good with good enough. You know even the best pitch, process, team can be better and you want to be the person that gets it there.

  • Are a team player. If you’re a “that’s not my job” or “I did all of this” person we’re not for you.

  • Speak up. You say what you’re thinking and are objective with your feedback.

  • Take 100% accountability. For wins and losses.

  • Work independently. We pride ourselves on pouring into each and every one of our team members but hand-holders we are not (well...we do hold our husbands/wives/little people’s hands from time to time. We’re not monsters.).

  • Go above and beyond - You don’t just simply do the job, you shake the tree of change and use the leaves that fall as means of innovation and creative genius.

  • Are a good human. We pride ourselves on being a team comprised of genuinely good human beings (kind, empathetic, transparent, etc.) and will keep it that way.

  • Live in the United States.
We:
  • Exist to help businesses grow (and their people shine) through podcast outreach.

  • Have been fully remote from the start. Work from your home office, co-working space, or a cornfield in Iowa. If you have internet access we’ll be in business.

  • Are a people-first company. Our team is always our #1 priority and not just because it’s good for business (happy people do better work) but because it’s the right thing to do.

  • Encourage and prioritize work-life balance. Your little person has t-ball games every Thursday evening you need to tap out early to prep for? Have fun and tell them we say good luck (then share pics in Slack of their cuteness, of course). Your new pup has obedience training every Wednesday afternoon? Go for it and maybe stop off for a nice walk after.

  • Do not micromanage. Not even a little. Your work will speak for itself. We’ll never track your time, double-check that you did xyz, or ask why you came in at 8:45 instead of 8:00. You have our full trust from the very beginning.

  • Are fun. Like Ron Burgundy on the jazz flute fun.

Perks & Benefits

We work really hard to make working at Lemonpie an amazing experience. We have a team full of truly exceptional people - the kind you’ll be excited to work with.

Here’s how we operate:

  • Live & work where you want - We’re a distributed team, so you can live and work wherever you want (from your house, favorite coffee shop, co-working space, etc.). For our ideal candidate, proximity won’t influence their productivity because they are internally motivated. Our only requirement is that you have a reliable internet connection and can focus on work during work time!

  • Unlimited paid vacation - We want you to take vacation. In fact, we have a minimum vacation policy of three weeks per year (not including holidays). It’s important to get out and do something. We’ll look forward to seeing pictures when you get back.

  • Flexible hours - As long as you’re available during core business hours and keeping full-time hours (7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 10am-6pm, etc.), we’ll work with you to create a schedule that’s optimal for you.

  • Monthly remote stipend - For some, working remotely means lots of coffee shops, a co-working space, or let’s face it - needing more loungewear. We provide a $100 monthly stipend for whatever you need.

  • Personal & professional growth - We’re serious about helping you improve your craft. Think conferences, books, dedicated time away from work to learn something new…it’s really up to you, but we love to see our people growing.

Let’s Do This Thing

If this sounds like everything you’ve been waiting for, consider this our formal invitation to apply here.

Note: If we like your application we will ask you to complete a test project free of charge to give us a better idea of how you operate hands-on. The work completed in said test project isn’t used for anything outside of gaining perspective on your work.

Thanks so much for your time - we know you could be on IG right now, but chose to be here with us instead and we’ll never forget that.

Executive Assistant

Company Overview
Nosbisch Ventures, a brand holding company out of West Palm Beach, Florida, is on a mission to drive positive social change by building and backing impact-focused brands.

Position Overview
This is a full-time role reporting to the CEO as Executive Assistant. To be considered for this role, you’ll need to be a resident of the United States and available to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

(Digital nomads who travel outside of the USA can certainly apply but must work on the schedule posted above.)

Mission
The mission of the Executive Assistant is to anticipate the operational needs of the business at an exceptionally high level, allowing the CEO to focus on developing the organization. This person is a self-starter who deftly handles (or delegates) day-to-day tasks before they are brought to the CEO.

While recurring tasks are certainly part of this position, the tasks assigned can vary from week to week based on the CEO’s needs and the needs of the business. The most important responsibility of the Executive Assistant is to ensure that administrative tasks and projects are completed with a high level of efficiency, confidentiality, accuracy, flexibility, and positivity in order to support the initiatives of Nosbisch Ventures.

The right candidate for this position will possess an entrepreneurial spirit determined to drive social change. Even when encountering obstacles, this person seeks to present solutions, not problems, to the CEO—and views problems as projects, not roadblocks. An aligned Executive Assistant takes ownership, accepts responsibility, stays accountable, and approaches all tasks with a sense of ownership (but not entitlement). He or she owns up to mistakes and quickly requests help when needed. The right candidate has a deep understanding of marketing, creative, eCommerce, and brand-building and is a geek about new software and platforms to simplify workflows. He or she is extremely resourceful and uses Google and YouTube to find new ways to solve challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities Include
  • Communicating on the CEO’s behalf, both internally and externally
  • Email management on behalf of the CEO
  • Complex calendar management and scheduling (both personally and professionally) on behalf of the CEO
  • Varying personal and professional administrative tasks
  • Project management
  • Act as a remote office manager by handling various personnel, operations, and administrative duties
  • Manage vendor relationships and contractors ensuring time is being used effectively
  • Assist in the recruitment and management of vendors and team members
  • Assist in the CEO’s responsibilities of Client Management, People Management, Recruiting, Business Development, and Finance
  • Monitoring information flow: Sometimes acting as a gatekeeper to ensure the CEO’s involvement in a project or decision-making process at critical moments.
  • Perform creative tasks involving the Adobe suite such as Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Examples of a creative task would include designing an on-brand Thank You card or creating a branded pitch deck.

Proficiencies

High Affinity for Technology: The Executive Assistant is a technologically savvy Mac user and is not intimidated by learning new technology. Proficiency in the following tech platforms is ideal: Slack, Zoom, Google Suite (including Google Sheets), ClickUp, Stripe, Dubsado, Zapier, and Adobe Suite. Must have an innate ability to quickly learn new technologies and teach it to others as well.

Quality Communication: The Executive Assistant must be an excellent communicator in both written and oral form. This includes proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This also includes being able to take a large amount of information and summarize it quickly, both in writing and orally on a regular basis. You must also be able to track communication (and be very responsive) across multiple channels without losing any details. Those channels typically include virtual video calls, Slack messages, and emails.

High Level of Discretion: Since the Executive Assistant will regularly be entrusted with confidential information, discretion, and sensitivity regarding such information is a must.

Team Player: In addition to working directly with the CEO, the assistant will also work with members of the team. They’ll need to be able to collaborate and communicate well, maintaining a can-do spirit and not complaining, making excuses, or gossiping.

Flexibility: The Executive Assistant will be alternating between different brands. This position will require a large amount of flexibility and patience while respecting urgency in accordance with business needs.

Anticipating Needs: As part of your commitment to enabling the CEO to serve the company and clients at the top of his game, the Executive Assistant will strive to anticipate needs and eliminate friction wherever possible. This means you know how to stay five steps ahead of your leader, clearing the path ahead for him.

Get to know the CEO.

Hi, I’m Aaron Nosbisch. I look forward to meeting you soon!

My mission is to be a mindful example of love, service, and expansion. You can find this reflected in my daily life and business as I build and back conscious, creative, and radical initiatives that empower humans.

What’s Aaron’s Role?
  • Founder, CEO of Nosbisch Ventures, which currently comprises the below brands:
  • Lucyd Media - Creative Advertising Studio for Socially Conscious Brands
  • Olani - Consciously Crafted Essential Oil Blends & Wearable Diffusers
  • Symbio - Helps Conscious Founders Build, Scale, and Exit Cannabis Brands
  • LUVA - Soap Reinvented
  • Board Member of 1909 - Co-working community of creators redefining success
  • Devoted Husband, Traveler, Techie, and Student of Meditation and Mindfulness

Who Aaron is Looking For:
Aaron is looking for someone with a positive and optimistic personality who can hold down business operations while maintaining excellent communication. Aaron considers himself a mindful leader and would like to bring on a person who sports a healthy life balance and an appetite for success.

Aaron’s Ideal Scenario:
Aaron would like to find someone who can provide a long-term commitment to help scale current and future brands. When you work with Aaron, you become part of his family. He works best with someone who is conscientious, thoughtful, and organized, who can hold him accountable to his schedule and goals in a friendly, uplifting manner while anticipating needs, watching for blind spots, and working several steps ahead at all times.

The ideal Executive Assistant will exhibit strong qualities of leadership, confidence, and capability paired with a down-to-earth, level-headed, calm demeanor. Aaron has many irons in the fire but your role is to anticipate and prevent friction, never to cause it, and to make the complicated engine run smoothly, paving the way for a trajectory of growth and success. You should be low-maintenance and disciplined, a self-starter who needs little to no oversight or hand-holding.

Sought-After Qualities
  • High attention to detail
  • An eye for design (including formatting of emails, documents, spreadsheets, etc)
  • Follow-through (someone who can help him stay on top of his responsibilities, not someone who needs him to stay on top of them)
  • Ability to create, optimize, and implement effective processes
  • Absolute trustworthiness and discretion
  • When working on Aaron’s behalf, be willing to adjust to his style of work (for example, if sending emails on his behalf, format emails how he would format them)
Sample Responsibilities
As Aaron is involved with multiple growing companies, his responsibilities are a combination of taking care of the things that are his strengths (high-value / high-leverage tasks) as well as handling items that don’t cleanly fall into a team member or vendor's court.

Something to keep in mind is that, with a growing company, Aaron’s responsibilities change often (and therefore the Executive Assistant’s responsibilities change as well). For example, responsibilities that Aaron handles in a particular team may eventually be fulfilled by a new full-time role.

Here is a random collection of sample tasks that the Executive Assistant may oversee:
  • Manage a special internal project and coordinate with internal team members and external partners to complete.
  • Complete due diligence on the forms required for hiring an employee in Florida, and complete those forms with support from the CEO.
  • Review, correct, send, and sign contracts on behalf of the CEO.
  • Create a job description for a new position that we’re looking to fill. (hehe)
  • Post a job posting and manage the hiring process, including initial meet-and-greet interviews.
  • Lead internal team meetings in the CEO’s absence.
  • Start client meetings on the CEO’s behalf (if running behind).
  • Coordinate scheduling with clients and team members.
  • Create systems and processes to ensure functional organization.
  • Oversee fulfillment needs and maintain inventory levels of Olani products.
  • Communicate and approve employee time-off requests and arrange coverage.
  • Set up platforms and systems for simplified daily workflows.
  • Automate tasks where possible using Zapier.
  • Create mood boards for new brands.
  • Identify winning user experiences.
  • Discover trendy new brands disrupting the market and make recommendations as to how Nosbisch Ventures can incorporate, imitate, or outshine them.
  • Create case studies.
  • Send and manage proposals, invoices, and contracts to clients and vendors and ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner, understanding the importance of maintaining cash flow.
Work Location:
  • Remote Hybrid
  • West Palm Beach, Florida
  • The candidate would work at least 2-3 days per week in the office at 1909
Compensation:
  • $50,000-$60,000 Salary Based on Experience
  • Opportunity for growth includes moving into the Chief of Staff role with a corresponding pay increase.
  • 90-day trial under contractor status. This will evolve into a W2 after the trial ends.
  • 1909 Membership included.
