Front End Engineer

Chili Piper is seeking talented, motivated engineers to join our fully remote team building interactive data applications. As a part of growing front-end team, you will work with designers to constantly improving our users’ experience. You will also collaborate with others throughout our organization and technology stack to build products that are revolutionizing the way our clients achieve their business goals.

Qualifications




Responsibilities




- Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and document engineering software applications.
- Ensuring that technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels.
- Translating designs and wire-frames into high quality code




Skills

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles (2+ years of work experience with React)
- Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
- Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
- Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
- Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
-  Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization.

About the role?

As a WordPress Developer at Awesome Motive, you will build infrastructure to create new features, improve existing code, squash bugs, and help us rapidly scale our platform.

You will primarily working in our product team for WPForms, the most popular WordPress form builder - used by over 3 million websites!

Common responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Triaging bugs and small enhancements that come into GitHub.
  • Scoping, writing, and testing new product features and addons.
  • Refactoring legacy code with a particular attention to backwards compatibility.
  • Providing feedback and peer review for other developers (Github PRs).

Here are some skills that will come handy:

  • Professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces, etc).
  • String familiarity with JavasScript (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6, etc).
  • Ability to use and extend build tools like gulp and webpack.
  • Familiarity with package managers such as Composer and NPM.
  • Experience working with third-party APIs (Eg Stripe, Drip, Zapier, etc).
  • Competent with version control through git and GitHub.
  • The ability to iterate and ship ideas quickly.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to keep complex ideas and features simple. (Simplicity is a core value!)
  • Previous freelance or remote work experience.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Advanced proficiency in JavaScript frameworks like VueJS or React.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or related APIs (WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal, etc).
  • Experience with DevOps or infrastructure management.
